What is the closest beach and can we walk there?
The closest beach to our house is called Gibb’s Bay and can be accessed without leaving the gated community (5 minutes drive/15 minutes walk). Guana Bay, which can be seen from the house, is also close by (10 minutes drive/20 minutes walk). Both are beautiful wild beaches (no facilities or bar) and the walk back is uphill. You can also reach Philipsburg in 10 minutes, Orient Beach in 15 minutes and Anse Marcel/Grand Case in 20 minutes. The beaches of Grand Case and Anse Marcel as well as Kim Sha Beach in Simpson Bay are probably the quietest/ most gentle with young children. Sint Maarten has so many wonderful beaches; you will most likely want to visit a few.

Do you recommend any car rental companies?
Both our guests and ourselves have successfully rented cars through a wide range agencies and haven’t encountered any issues. We usually recommend using www.orbitz.com as they always seem to offer the cheapest rates.
